Hello and goodbye from Paris

Sam's favorite photos:

Sam's favorite part ofthe trip:
My favorite part of the trip was the freedom, and this lead to meeting some really cool people in all the countries we attended. The most impactful experience I encountered was in Dublin, Ireland. Colby and I met two Irish girls who ended up explaining a lot of their culture, language, etc. This was really fun learning about basically another world living in Ireland. And their accents were awesome.

My favorite part of the trip was visiting Westminister Abbey in London. I really enjoyed learning all of the information and walking the ground Kate Middleton walked on. It was so cool to see the graves of Charles Darwin and Isaac Newton. It was beautiful and our guide was amazing. I also enjoyed the London Eye, Eiffel Tower, and Dublin, Ireland.

My favorite part of this Europe trip was definitely the fact that we had so much freedom to go and see the things we wanted to see. To be specific, Sam and I talked to people on the streets of each place we went to which is what helped me personally gather most of the cultural knowledge that I had gained from this trip. This was so important to me because of the social knowledge that I will now have for the rest of my life. I'm very glad to have experienced this trip and hope to travel more of the world later in life!

My favorite part of the trip was going to see the Eiffel Tower. There was something just so magical about looking at the tower at night and watching it sparkle away. Though the weather was cold, the sky colored itself a beautiful pink hue and purple clouds danced around it. It was truly a magnificent night.

Sydney's favorite part of the trip:
Overall, my favorite city was London. We saw pretty much everything I wanted to see. My favorite parts were Wicked and going to see the Eiffel Tower at night. Wicked is my favorite musical, so I loved seeing Wicked again in London. Seeing the Eiffel Tower at night was amazing. We got there and, all of a sudden, it lit up. It was so beautiful. I had a great tim on this trip and can't wait to go again!

I really liked being able to see things that I had learned about in AP Euro. It was so cool to see where these things had actually happened. I definitely "nerded out" in Westminster Abbey and the Palace of Versailles.

I enjoyed Dublin the most. It was the most unique city. Everywhere I went I could feel the culture through the music, the colors, and the people. The fact that it was so different than Kansas City was my favorite part. You would never be able to find a scene like this back home. When you travel, especially internationally, you get the chance to "start over" and be different. In Dublin, I got that chance and it was a really cool experience.

My favorite part of the trip was being able to go see my first professional musical, Wicked. This experience was really exciting for me because I had no prior experience with musicals of any sort and really enjoyed the experience. I was also extremely lucky to have family members that were able to meet up with me in London and I had to opportunity to meet with some of them for a night in London. This trip has been a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'm so happy I could experience it with some great people.

My favorite part of the trip was being able to nerd out at Westminster Abbey. I was able to see all the people I had learned about in AP euro and I found it very interesting. It was also so amazing to see the graves of many important people in our history. I also loved getting so close to everyone on the trip, and making life long memories that will stay with me forever.

My favorite part of the trip was Dublin and Wales. I liked Dublin because it was a big transformation going from Kansas to Dublin and I really liked the vibe of Dublin and how nice everyone was.  I really liked Wales because it was the prettiest of all the places.

Piccadilly Circus was one of my favorite parts of this trip, I've always wanted to go to London so when we got there I couldn't be more happy. We were at Piccadilly Circus during the night, the city was alive and it felt amazing to be a part of it all. The colorful lights and the street performers that night will always be something I will remember. These photos aren't from Piccadilly Circus, but they still mean a lot to me, I've become so close to certain people on this trip, and I'm so happy that I had this chance. I will miss this so much.

This picture was taken during the London eye tour, one of the best things I have done in a while. It was actually pretty cool seeing all of the city from one of the highest points. In the picture, you are able to see Big Ben (which they actually renamed).

What a trip it has been! I didn't get the opportunity to have the kids (or us teachers) blog as much as I would have liked because we were so busy - which is a good thing, right? Hope you enjoyed this final post of their favorite pictures and favorite adventures. We cannot wait to take another trip!

Last day in Dublin

Recap of yesterday in Dublin:

We took a tour (via bus) of Dublin and had a fabulous guide named Shane. We stopped at St Patrick's Cathedral (pictures above) for a tour. From there went to Pheonix Park and got to play a little hurling with the locals. We continued on the Trinity College and saw The Books of Kells. From there we taxied to the Guiness Storehouse where we ate lunch and took a tour. After the tour we went back to the hotel before dinner. We met for dinner at a local pub called Murray's. A lot of meat and potatoes over here! The kids had some free time last night to do their last bit of exploring.

This morning we are on a ferry headed over to North Wales. And by ferry I mean small cruise boat. It's very big - shopping restaurants, movie lounge, etc.

All is well from the ferry right now. We should be in Wales in the next few hours.

Picture Update

On the ferry.

We saw a castle!

Anne Hathaway's birthplace.

More to come soon!
